Special Digital Release By The Bordellos on Record Store Day 2019

Their Crabs EP is refreshingly not available on vinyl. It's a five-track all instrumental affair on download/stream only available from Metal Postcards Records. As you'd expect from the Bordellos, this new music delights, challenges, amuses and takes you to places you didn't know you wanted to go. It's a journey that takes in acidic folk, found sounds, industrial noise and the open-minded possibilities of post-punk. Oh and there's some whistling too. If John Peel were alive today he'd no doubt be broadcasting tracks off the Crabs EP each night.

The antichrist of the ridiculous vinyl purchasing feeding frenzy that is RSD, this Mick Harvey on a bum ride, lo fi with ambition, post-punk morosse and yet diaphanous (check Spiral, possibly the most elegant, swanned, neo-classicist serene with touches of Baroque-Kosmische track they group have ever recorded) longing Crabs is perfect two-fingered salute to trends, fads and signalling.

And now for the annual Bordellos record store day release that isn’t in a record store, impish folk that they are, this is being readied up by the Metal Postcard imprint for digital delight.......Up next, the gnawing ‘moving sideways’, a more gnarled garage gouged affair, part Fall part swampland part very early Pavement, whatever the case, endows it with a warping lysergic edginess........Bagpuss’ continues with this rich seam of half arsed out of focus easy on the ear trippiness, almost funky in a stoner stylee

We have here a delicious anti record shop release by nobody less than the Bordellos. There is no physical appearance and I strongly believe all members lock themselves in at home just to avoid going into a rampaging rage. The only thing that will make them get through this day without them becoming the true gringe figure of recordshop day will be by obtaining and enjoying their latest EP. Thank you The Bordellos! You are life savers!
