The third bird was stained with dirt
It had forgotten its own worth Overwhelmed by everything
Like a condemned man, waiting to swing
The fourth bird perched on the telephone wire Cold, shivered black, in solitary attire
Haunted by magnified fear from the past Beating black wings of loneliness
