The 2nd Album by Sydney ( and now London based) leftfield electronic pop artists . Originally released by 12 Apostles Records in 2007 with a limited CD release Metal Postcard Records is now very pleased to have taken on the release that will be available on Bandcamp, on CD (buy from Bandcamp also) as a worldwide release. The album will also be available to download and stream internationally by end of 2014
Here are some reviews from the album's original release
Pure Groove, UK
"Like an Aussie Beta Band with a touch of the kind of playful sound of acts like Department of Eagles, Errors and Tunng. Very promising."
Rough Trade, London
"..Combining the ambient sensibilities of Matthew Herbert and the lyrical reach of The Triffids , ollo return with a stunning and anthemic electronic workout with a fantastic cover of fun boy three's "the lunatics have taking over the asylum" on the flip... ESSENTIAL STUFF ..."
Cyclic Defrost / Australia
sounding just like Jarvis Cocker singing over a Barry Adamson number...
Drum Media / Australia
The cover of Fun Boy 3's The Lunatics (Have Taken Over The Asylum) is a well thought out down-beaten affair, the Campaign For Real Bread is so cute that it's intelligent comparison of politicians and advertising
would go unrealised by many appreciating listeners ... a very
accomplished album and one difficult not to enjoy..."
A strange & imaginative collection of anti pop songs…eerie and well crafted musical excursion where you never know where you’re heading, or where you’ve just been
Further Noise (UK)
Ollo have created an electro downbeat tour de force with their new album The IfIf. This sparkling array of tracks veers between electro pop, break beat dub & sonic art. The IfIf is an addictive, innovative collection of tracks which deserves all the acclaim it is being heralded with and has to be one of the best albums I have heard this year.
Losing Today (UK)
Glacially dipped…crunchy beats..sophistication and torchlight majesty
The Sunday Experience (UK)
A sweaty and heaving Carnival of hip jerking exotica..classy stuff
Ollo are a producer/DJ duo who make electronic music with dub, jazz, hip hop, electro, house and rock influences, among others. In both their DJ and music production work they resist being pigeonholed. Their DJ sets range from experimental and eclectic to dancefloor-filling, and have been known to include ambient, glitch, house, dub, electro, ska, techno, hip hop, funk, jazz, 1920s cabaret, purring cheetahs, german new wave, garage rock, french-canadian folk, tribal chants, unidentifiable grinding noises, and the sounds of airport toilets!
