Salem Trials - Synthetic Animals & Other Plastics

by metal postcard records

/
1.
Foxes roam the streets looking for food and functionally extinct replaced by synthetic animals and other plastics halo of flies circle around them not built for this world there are no amends we keep making the same mistakes you'll miss us when we've gone
2.
A festival of lights alive with sound A halo of flies buzzing around sshush... Shy eyes look out of every tree Their frightened gaze returned by me We cannot breath again at last Unless we let go our past We can’t move on to better days Unless we acknowledge our mistakes I'm glad we've moved on to better days Unless we acknowledge our mistakes
3.
Too beautiful to survive Too fragile to live Not built for this world we’re leaving Too harsh to forgive There is no room for compromise No chance to save it all We’re using up scarce resources And heading for a fall When we should be focussing on this world Rich men look out into space We can’t take ourselves out of here There’s no way to escape Try and save what we can with DNA And store it in the event Things improve and we can repopulate the earth With the wildlife we’ve previously ended Like space this shit is all pie in the sky We can turn this supertanker around But it’ll take time and effort And the right people on the ground
4.
We can’t heal the scarring of this world If we can’t admit what we’ve done to the world We just don't have what it takes because we keep making the same mistakes Three Mile Island - same mistake! Chernobyl - same mistake! Fukushima... same mistake Nulclear waste... same mistake again Grenfell Tower... same mistake Cocoanut Grove... same mistake Bhopal... the same mistake The Windrush... same mistake again Passenger pigeons... same mistake wooly mamouth... same mistake white rhino... same mistake and the polar bear is going to be the same mistake again smallpox blankets... same mistake destroy the buffalo... same mistake dakota pipeline... same mistake border exclusions - same mistake! End of the incas - same mistake! Gentrification - same mistake! Empty the care homes after covid - same mistake! Do not resuscitate the same mistake cash for questions - same mistake fast track contracts - same mistake favours for favours - same mistake cash for honours - same mistake again walking through ash - same mistake nothing will grow here - same mistake destroy everything we touch - same mistake maybe go on too much - the same mistake again We can heal the scaring of this world if we can admit what we've done to this world We can heal the scaring of this world if we can admit what we've done to this world We keep making the same mistake Maybe we don't have what it takes because we keep making the same mistake and we never admit to whatever we break
5.
Trapped in a forest that shrinks day by day You can’t live elsewhere and we give it away A specific diet without it we’ll starve The land that we left you has been more than halved can’t live in the world we made Too late the price was paid It doesn’t matter what you think More and more functionally extinct We’ve done so much wrong too much to forgive Concrete disasters where nothing can live More space for housing we’ll hack and we’ll slash Then we’ll go further and burn it to ash can’t live in the world we made Too late the price was paid It doesn’t matter what you think More and more functionally extinct Roads that take a steady toll On anything that can’t drive at all A manmade disaster taking wildlife at will If you can’t survive we can replace you with something that will can’t live in the world we made Too late the price was paid It doesn’t matter what you think More and more functionally extinct It should be a digital display Ideally Bluetooth plug and play Something that’s cute and easy to feed That doesn’t shit or piss or bleed

One morning walking to work A fox walked on in front It was a clear morning But no one seemed to see I’m told there’s places where Foxes roam the streets I can still feel that they’re there Foxes roam the streets It walked with a calm purpose Like nothing it could want We walked like that together Then he walked off away from me I moved out the city But I have never seen Any fox that was as calm As the urban fox had been I’m told there’s places where Foxes roam the streets I can still feel that they’re there Foxes roam the streets Late at night I hear them But I’ve never seen where they are I once saw a huge resplendent fox But that had been hit by a car I’m told there’s places where Foxes roam the streets I can still feel they are there Foxes roam the streets

No Amends 06:03
there was a time when things were happy and now they're unhappy now they're not fine there was a thing it was not burning there was no learning and no birds sing world was empty everything's gone now all the things are wrong now it's all 20-20 in the garden rain falls like acid the world looks massive there's no pardon hands are open held out all empty it's all 20-20 need more hope in is this how it ends is this the final curtain do we know that for certain are there no amends

I apologise to any members of other alternative guitar bands in the UK, but I’m afraid you are just going to have to up your game to reach these heights.
