“Punk-country gutter-blues from North East China”

For the past year GUIGUISUISUI has been screaming out punk blues songs about murder and cats, in Changchun, Northeast China (probably one ofthe coldest places in China). Armed with a diddly board (a one of a
kind skateboard/one stringed bass guitar hybrid), a telecaster, a
handful of harmonicas, and a bunch of friends, GUIGUISUISUI has been
causing hell all over Asia.

After the release of the the debut album ‘Dongbei Delta’ with Chinese
beatboxer Xiao Hai and a tour of China, South Korea and Japan,
GUIGUISUISUI has returned with another assortment of murky
punk/rockabilly/blues songs. The new single ‘Nineteen Below Zero’ was
recorded with The Electric Shadows, an ad hoc backing band consisting
of beatboxer turned bass player Xiao Hai and drummer Mao Da Gong.

The outcome is a dark, punk-rockabilly amalgamation detailing all the
frustrations of living in a rustbelt Chinese frontier city; where the
temperatures drop way below nineteen centigrade, and entertainment
beyond pounding one’s liver is few and far between.

Reviews/quotes:
“[...]a blues musician based in Dongbei, and a rather interesting one
at that. Not only is one of his instruments of choice is a skateboard
diddly bo, but his songs are about murder, Satan, colonalism,
addiction and cats...” - Shanghai 24/7
